Bass
Contested · 13 srcSources split on impact, not on depth. Everyone hears the sub-bass reach; they divide over whether it actually hits, and tips move it.
On a calibrated IEC711 rig the shelf reads +10.4 dB at 20 Hz relative to 500 Hz, still +9.0 dB at 50 Hz, but only +5.5 dB at 100 Hz and +2.0 dB at 200 Hz — depth without a mid-bass lift. Impedance was measured at roughly 3.3 Ω through the bass against a rated 4.8 Ω, so weak sources lose grip down here.
⚠ vs. listeners — The two camps are describing different octaves of the same shelf, so both hold. The one reading the data does contradict is 'limited sub-bass extension' — the response is flat from 20 to 30 Hz — and the reviewer who reported it also reported that only half the stock tips sealed for him, which is the likelier cause.
“The extension is stellar, with the VOLARE providing a convincing visceral rumble on the deepest notes.”
Headfonics
“Depending on the ear tips used, it can go from a punchy and impactful bass to not being a hard hitting set despite extending all the way down to 20 Hz.”
