Band: opinion spread · Dot: weighted average
Sources split, largely along version lines. Reviewers of the black versions — especially the Bass Improved — call it an energetic, bass-forward V; owners of the Silver call it Harman-like or 'bright neutral', and a few find even that too treble-led.
Measured
On one rig that measured all three (EnemySpider, stock tips, relative to 500 Hz), 100/200 Hz read +6.4/+3.6 dB for the Silver, +8.1/+6.1 dB for the switch version at 0000 and +10.8/+7.6 dB for the Bass Improved at 0000, against Harman's +4.2/+0.4. Above 1 kHz the versions converge: ear gain of +10–11 dB at 2.7–3 kHz (on target), a slight 4–6 kHz dip and a peak near 8 kHz about 5 dB over target on eight of nine rigs.
vs. listeners — Both camps are accurate about different products. The Bass Improved carries about 7 dB of extra mid-bass over Harman, which reads as a V against the 8 kHz peak; the Silver carries 2–3 dB, which reads as near-neutral, and the same 8 kHz peak then makes it sound brighter rather than V-shaped.
“So, the sound, I'll call it an energetic Vshape.”

“The Duonic's midrange was slightly forward in character, resulting in a mild "W" profile.”
