Roger Linn Design is the one-person American instrument company Roger Linn founded in 2001, after the drum machines that made his name — the LM-1 and LinnDrum — and the Akai MPC series he designed in the late 1980s. Its first product was the AdrenaLinn guitar effects processor; since 2014 its main one has been the LinnStrument, a grid controller that senses three continuous dimensions of every finger and was central to the creation of the MIDI Polyphonic Expression standard. Instruments are manufactured in California in small runs, sold direct, and run open-source firmware that Linn has kept updating for over a decade.
