ROLI is a London music-technology company founded in 2009 by pianist Roland Lamb, best known for the Seaboard — a MIDI controller whose keys are moulded into one continuous sheet of silicone, so pitch, pressure and timbre can be shaped by sliding and pressing into the surface. Its instruments drove the adoption of MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE). ROLI Ltd filed for administration in September 2021 and was reformed as Luminary Ltd, which continues to trade under the ROLI name.
