Polk Audio is an American loudspeaker maker founded in 1972 by Matthew Polk, George Klopfer and Sandy Gross, who met at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. It is best known for home and car speakers, from the budget Monitor XT and Signature Elite lines to the Reserve and Legend series, and was bought by Directed Electronics in 2006.
