Ableton is a German music-technology company founded in 1999 in Berlin by Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke (the dub-techno duo Monolake) with software engineer Bernd Roggendorf. It is best known for Live, one of the leading applications for music production and live performance, and for its Push and Move hardware instruments built to play and control it.

Ableton's grab-and-go sketchpad and mini-Push in one — near-unanimous on its workflow, split down the middle on whether four tracks and no song mode are a design or a wall, and on pads some find expressive and others have to hammer.

The Push that finally plays like an instrument — a full audio interface and an MPE grid, tethered to Live for half the price of the standalone.
